Stop Exploiting the Worker

By Bill Lindo

Belize City, March 16th 2021: Belize’s news is currently dominated by the decision of the Briceno government to cut the wages of public servants by 10% for the next three years so as to save some $ 80 million dollars per year in an effort to comply with the dictates of the IMF to reduce by 2031 the public debt ratio from 134% of GDP to 60% of GDP or less.

Let’s be blunt. If Belize cuts back on its borrowing so as to reach public debt ratio of 60% of GDP under current conditions such that production continues to contribute the current 34% (agriculture, mining and manufacturing) then the local population will flee since Belize will become a real “hell on earth”. Our living standards will fall to one of the lowest globally. Yes, the current economic structure must change, but not the way the IMF and their flunkies want.  This is not about doom and gloom; it’s real.

As I have been writing for the last two decades, there is always another way. But the major problem is that the PUP has been hijacked by persons who don’t know the Creed/Philosophy of George Price’s political party. These carpetbaggers, as Mr Price used to call them don’t know and don’t care. Their viewpoint/mind-set is that of the oligarchy – the enemy of George Price’s mixed economy.

In our world there are two versions of capitalism – the dominant British version and the American System of Political Economy. The structure of Belize’s economy can be divided into two.  First, there is the real economy of current production and consumption, wages and industrial profits. Second is the FIRE section (finance, insurance and real estate) consists of land, monopoly rights and financial claims that yield rentier returns in the form of interest, financial fees, economic rent (unearned income), and monopoly gains.

The FIRE section sits on top of the real economy and lives off the work, sweat and blood of the productivity of the real economy of agriculture, mining, manufacturing, extracting close to 40% of the work of the real economy while doing no work. It’s just sitting there to collect.

For many years it was understood that one of government’s main functions was to regulate and tax away rentier income and interest from loans because they are unproductive income and a drain upon society. The “freeloader” doesn’t sow, but wants half of the proceeds for doing nothing after the worker has reaped.  Even Western classical economists, such as Adam Smith and David Ricardo were against the “free loader” called economic rent– especially by landlords. They considered it a “free-lunch”. Why? Speculators always try to borrow, to create debt, to buy such rent extracting privileges. Instead of a “market” in which rent was paid as taxes, the “free-lunch” was capitalized into bank loans to be paid out as interest or dividends. Banks then gained at the expense of the tax collector, and thus, the lower classes lost as governments stopped spending and cut social services. Don’t forget, debt can only be repaid from the real economy of production.

When I was a teenager in the 1960’s everyone in Belize wanted to go live and work in the United States of America. Why? They used to say that the streets in the United States was paved with gold. At that time the United States paid its average worker the highest in the entire world. A man made enough money to feed, cloth, house his family, and owned a vehicle by working in a factory. The wife stayed home and raised the kids. The average family all went to church services on Sundays. Crime was low. The average size of the houses was some 1,200 sq. ft. with at least three bedrooms; and some 68% of the population owned a house. Debt levels were very low.

The question is how could the United States of America 48 years ago pay workers high wages, and yet manufacture goods of higher quality than the rest of the world and yet sell those goods cheaper than everyone else?

As I have written before, the fundamental differences of the American and British are some eight principles.

The most prominent difference between the British and American system of Political Economy is exploiting nature rather than men. The education system we inherited and retained from our colonial master is based on the proposition that the elites/the big man have the right to exploit the worker. A historical example of this American system in practice is Henry Ford and his model T.  Mr Ford did several things different than his British counterparts. First, he paid his average worker wages that was 5 times higher than other workers of the time, he invented the assembly line and his model T was easily repaired.  The result was that his workers could afford his model T and thus his profits increased substantially.

But to exploit nature means high wages for workers; tariff protection of the goods made by those workers; money creation must be a public utility; a view of soil fertility and agricultural productivity as a product of capital investment; technology and innovation will always create new methods to enter production and thus profits and wages don’t diminish but instead lead to higher productivity and thus higher wages to workers.  Public infrastructure as a means to lower costs in an industrial society by introducing new methods of production and communications, and the public support of research and development.  Remember agriculture and manufacturing industries need a glue to hold them together. That glue is infrastructure.  And most important is government intervention in an economy. Government as the “brain” must put a bridle on corporate bodies, and must establish the pursuit of happiness as a natural right of citizens.

In Belize this principle is enshrined in the PUP’s Constitution as a sacred duty of government to create full employment and completely end poverty.  The truth is that Belize’s private sector has created virtually no new jobs since Independence.

Here’s one solution to the current budget deficit.  During the last quarter of the year 2019, the previous Prime Minister, Dean O. Barrow introduced two bills for write offs. One for some $ 90 million dollars in land taxes to Belize’s one percent and the other write off was for some $ 40,000.00 for young Perdomo.  The majority of Belizeans went crazy against Mr Perdomo with their bad-mind. But these same Belizeans had nothing to say about the $ 90 million which was 2,250 times more than the measly $ 40,000.00. But it shows the mind-set of the average Belizean. Only the current Deputy Prime Minister, Hon Cordel Hyde had a comment in the House of Representatives in late 2019. Hon Hyde was against the write-off to the big boys.

Carpetbaggers, leave the workers alone, especially now with the economic fallout of COVID-19. We need to create about 14,000 new high paying jobs using Price’s mixed economy each and every year for the foreseeable future – that’s why the Belizean people elected the PUP – not for more austerity. Belizeans are tired of austerity.

Instead of punishing thousands of hard working Belizeans, let the elites pay the $ 80 million. Put back the land tax of $ 90 million that was given away in 2019. That land tax will fall on the thirty or so large landholders – the elites who can easily afford to pay.

The government can also tax the 40% of unearned income ($ 1.4 billion dollars) that the FIRE section of our economy gets by not working.  If government puts a tax of 15% on the useless FIRE section of our economy some $ 210 million dollars will be available to reduce the public debts and pay the workers. Or we can tax capital gains. Every other country in the world has a capital gains tax except Belize. Speculation does no good for an economy, except puts the burden on the ones who create the wealth of the country – the workers of the nation-state.

Now the carpetbaggers will say that in a recession or depression it’s not wise to raise or increase taxes. This is one of those misconceptions about economic theory that has Belize in economic trouble. It is a moral duty to increase taxes on speculation, economic rent, interest charges, and all illegal activities. These incomes are all unearned and contribute nothing to society and for common justice should be taxed. But the economists of the British school of thought will usually go after the worker, to put the burden on him while the big fish laughs all the way to the bank.

And Mr Carpetbaggers, let’s stop the blackmail of our Belizean citizens. It is not either the IMF draconian austerity or a local home grown austerity. They are the same. In 2005 Hon Said Musa decided to follow the advice of Belize’s G-7 movement and their home grown austerity measures. The result was one of the worst defeats the PUP suffered. Austerity never works. It is against human nature. Austerity has NEVER fixed the economy in any country. It destroys. Its purpose is to steal the little that the poor and middle-class have and to transfer wealth to the elites/the big boys. Austerity has never work in the last 30+ years it has been tried and it never will.  Tell the IMF to go fly a kite!

The solution to Belize’s economic problems if we wish to have a high standard of living for our people is to industrialize Belize.

We also seem to forget a fundamental truth.  The truth is that the baby-boomers, who are the leaders of today, and who all mostly went to universities, were indoctrinated. They believe with their whole heart the nonsense that the private sector is the sole creator of wealth.  “The sole source of wealth is the rise in the productivity of human labour effected through technological progress” (Lindo, 1995) Money is NOT wealth. Wealth is saved labour.  Money is a means to exchange wealth. Wealth can only be created by human beings through the mind, since we are created in the image of our Creator.

We as a people and country have come full circle. Instead of the glorious dawn of a new Belize promised by our founding father, we are willingly returning to our colonial past.  I am sad, but will end by repeating what I wrote before.

The “key” to genuine development and full economic independence, which will not reduce but rather eradicate poverty and create full employment in Belize –the objective of the philosophy of the nationalists of Belize, the George Price way — is to advance developments in basic economic infrastructure combined with rapid increases in energy flux densities per capita and per square mile. Government is the only institutional force which can implement rapid increases in energy flux densities and rapid advances in basic economic infrastructure.  But advanced developments in both basic economic infrastructure and energy flux densities per capita and per square mile can only be “squeezed from the human brain” as Walker Lee Cisler (prominent American engineer) said, which means you need high-quality (or highly skilled) scientists and engineers. Genuine development is an act of human creation – it is a complete change of our present culture – a reversal from hopelessness and hedonism to one of progress, but it is hard work, not easy work.

We have to think our way out of the mess we are in.

The above is the world we live in – rule by the 1%, the Rockefellers, Morgan’s, and the Rothschild’s

How to Fix the Belizean Economy

By Bill Lindo

Belize City, Feb 16th 2021: On February 11th, the new government of Belize released a note on the “Analysis of the State of the nation’s Economy” in which the Ministry of Finance set out the terrible condition of Belize’s economy in an effort to convince the general public that severe austerity measures are required to right the ship of state.

The numbers that I will quote below come from the Central Bank of Belize’s “Monthly Economic Highlights, Nov 2020”.

This article will be in three parts. First, let’s settle some theoretical stuff about how economies work. Second, we will discuss the numbers as presented by the Central Bank, and third how we can fix the problems using George Price’s mixed economy, and not the brutal austerity as promoted by the British/Neoliberal Parasitic model.

The Theory

In the 190+ countries of the world, the economies of the vast majority are mostly based on what was termed in the nineteen century as the British System of Capitalism – today we call it globalization or neoliberalism. Others have been to refer to it as handbag or parasitic models of Capitalist economics. A few countries still practice a version of Communism, but after 1990 this system became virtually extinct.  The other version of Capitalism known to the world since 1789 is called the American System or American School of Political Economy. It was invented mainly by Alexander Hamilton and after his assassination went into disuse until it was revived by America’s greatest economist and the main founder of the Republican Party of the United States – Henry Charles Carey, the economic advisor to United States President, Abe Lincoln.

The major concepts of the American School that distinguish that version of Capitalism from the British School are:

  1. Most Importantly — Exploiting nature rather than men.
  2. Tariff Protection of local agriculture and manufacturing because free trade has always benefitted the strong at the expense of the weak.
  3. High wages to workers, because as E. Peshine Smith, wrote: “In order to make labour-cheap, the labourer must be well-fed, well-clothed, well-lodged, well-instructed.”
  4. Money creation is a public utility and should be under the control of elected representatives of the people, not controlled by private individuals for private gain and control.
  5. Technology and innovation always causes new methods to enter production and thus profits and wages don’t diminish but instead leads to higher productivity and thus higher wages to workers. Therefore, the theory of diminishing returns is not valid to physical reality
  6. A view of soil fertility and agricultural productivity as a product of capital investment – not nature.  Science is the way to solve the problem of “mining the soil”.
  7. Public infrastructure as a means to lower costs in an industrial society by introducing new methods of production and communications, and the public support of research and development. Agriculture and manufacturing industries need a glue to hold them together. That glue is infrastructure.
  8. Government intervention in an economy. Government as the “brain” must put a bridle on corporate bodies, and must establish the pursuit of happiness as a natural right of citizens. In Belize this principle is enshrined in the PUP’s Constitution as a sacred duty of government to create full employment and completely end poverty.  The truth is that Belize’s private sector has created no new jobs.

Recently I looked at the syllabus being used by the University of Belize in the teaching of economics. I was shocked. The theory on international trade is pure foolishness. Some would say silly. “Errors and omissions” make no appearance, nor do things such as capital flight, smuggling, fictitious transfer pricing, and money laundering are not covered.  Why? These omissions are necessary to steer trade theory toward the destructive conclusion that any country can pay its foreign debt by any amount just by lowering wages enough to pay its foreign creditors. All the government needs to do is to devalue the cost of local labour by “labour market reforms” and austerity programs. For the last 30 years this theory have been proven false, but the IMF insists that it must be followed, especially now with Covid 19.

The IMF has made it clear that in order to receive loans, countries must abide by their long-held pre-conditions – increase taxes, reduce the wage bill. The Said Musa government resisted them for 10 years and the Dean Barrow government have also resisted them for 12 years.  Now the story is being crafted to seem like we have no other option but to engage in an IMF programme.

Popular morality usually blames the victims — individuals and governments for going into debt. The trick in this ideological war is to convince debtors to imagine that the general prosperity of the nation depends on paying bankers and making their shareholders and bondholders rich.  What one economist has called a “Stockholm Syndrome” in which debtors identify with their financial capturer.

Then there are the myths (lies) being taught at our Universities on money supply. The theory is that the new money as debt created by the bankers are lent to the private sector so they can create new jobs, or investment in capital goods. In fact the schools insist that the bankers are doing a wonderful service by allocating the savings of people who are willing to forego the pleasure of spending now and giving these funds of depositors to people who are willing to take risks and increase the quantity of jobs in the society. Belizeans, go to the Bank of England web site and look under “Publications” for March 2014, “Money Creation in the Modern Economy” to see that new money is created when a commercial bank makes a loan to a debtor. Commercial banks DON’T lend depositors money. The money is created as debt from thin air. Simple!

But the truth is that bankers don’t lend money for new ventures, unless the debtor has marketable assets worth two or more times the sum lent. And in Belize as all Western countries, bankers lend money for mostly, real estate, and other speculative ventures – so the bankers can extract more money out of the economy leaving less for food, medicine, education and other necessary consumption.

Michael Hudson, an American economist remarked that the way how the economy works today in most countries is like a parasite and host. The financial parasites have attached themselves to the physical economy — the host and is using debt to destroy the host.

Currently, most of what we call the “economy” is really two completely different systems. First, there is the real economy of current production and consumption, wages and industrial profits. The second, or FIRE sector (finance, insurance and real estate) consists of land, monopoly rights and financial claims that yield rentier returns in the form of interest, financial fees, economic rent (unearned income), and monopoly gains.

Human beings are at a pivotal stage. Either the real economy of production and consumption prevail and with it a new renaissance of a thousand years of peace on planet Earth; or we allow the parasite class to win and drag humanity into a new dark age of death, diseases, and perhaps the destruction of humans on planet Earth.

The Numbers

On March 16th 2020 it was announced that a National Oversight Committee co-chaired by PM Barrow and Leader of the Opposition, John Briceno was created to deal with the Covid 19 pandemic that had started to destroy the global economy. Both sides appointed their economic czar, Carla Barnet for the then government and Chris Coye for the opposition PUP. For most of 2020 economic decisions were made in a bi-partisan manner.

The Coronavirus which none of us expected, nor wanted, has not only taken our economy to the brink but exposed all the weakness of previous generations’ decisions to build an economy on foundations of sand. Only some 34% of Belize’s economy is built on production (agriculture, mining, and manufacturing) the largest part – 66% is tourism and distribution – invisibles as the British calls it – foundations of sand.

An analysis of the numbers from the applications for monetary relief through the Social Security Board revealed about 67,000 genuine applications or some 37% of the employed work-force of Belize as at April, 2019.  Belize District had some 23,030 persons losing their income because of the Covid 19 shutdown. San Pedro Town and Caye Caulker Village had the most of approximately 14,680 persons, while Belize City suffered about 8,350 persons losing income and jobs because of Covid 19. In Belize City some 4,160 persons were directly employed by the cruise tourism sector.  Of the remaining 4,190 persons without income, about 2,000 got back their jobs (as at June 1st, 2020) in retail, transportation and the hospitality sector. The other 2,000 plus are what economists called the structurally unemployed. In Belize we say they hustle – they catch-and-kill.

Income per capita fell in the last three quarters of 2020 from about $ 7,000 to some $ 5,800 by the end of the year 2020. Unemployment now stands at close to 65,000 persons (out of 185,000) plus another 45,000 persons whom we say catch-and-kill. This has created about 42,000 persons who need a government hand-out – pantry/grocery bag.

Now we have been mis-educated/conditioned to accept the economic and cultural axioms of oligarchical rule are so embedded within our society and our minds that we accept that an economy must be measured/looked at from a monetary stand-point.  Thus Belize with a total debt at November 30th 2020 of $ 4.155 billion dollars or debt-to –GDP ratio of 135.7% is not sustainable and can be dealt with in only one way – by lowering government expenditure – less jobs, reduced salaries, curtailing social programs.

First, let’s examine this debt of $ 4.155 billion dollars. Some $ 1.77 billion is from multilateral sources such as the CDB, IDB, etc. and $ 1.085 billion is the super bond.  The balance of $ 1.3 billion dollars is domestic or local debt mostly owed to the Central Bank of Belize. Now who owns the Central Bank of Belize? It’s owned by the people and Government of Belize. So, if the local debt is removed then the foreign debt is 93% of GDP, a more acceptable level.

According to the Central Bank local debt grew by $ 196.1 million dollars and foreign debt also grew by some $ 226.0 million, both because of the unusual expenditures incurred by government due to the Covid 19 fallout.  From April 2020 up to today, government has been feeding some 40,000 Belizeans because they lack an income caused by the nearly complete shut-down of the tourism sector.

For the eight months between April to November 2020 total government revenue fell by 21% to $ 608 million dollars while the money it spent increased to $ 859 million leaving a short fall of $ 250.8 million dollars of which some $ 196 million became an overdraft at the Central Bank in addition to treasury bills and notes. The balance came mainly from the CDB, IDB and World Bank as cheap long term loans.  According to the Central Bank recurrent expenditures were reduced by some $ 85.8 million “reflecting the impacts of Government’s restraint on purchases of non-essential goods and services.” And capital expenditure increased by $ 116 million “precipitated by Covid 19 emergency costs.”

And in the real economy, imports from January to November 2020 fell from $ 1.903 billion in 2019 to $ 1.459 billion for the same period in 2020. Exports also fell for that period from $ 382 million in 2019 to $ 339 million in 2020. This trade deficit of some one billion dollars per year is the main problem facing Belize from before 1981. Around 1991/1992 as the power of the merchants grew and George Price’s power waned the trade deficit grew almost threefold. In 1993 the trade deficit was $ 298 million dollars, which was some 53% of imports.  But again by 1996 there was a turn-around.  Imports fell to $ 511 million dollars and exports increased to $ 335 and Belize only had a deficit of $ 176 million dollars (34% of imports). A science teacher and pragmatist, Prime Minister Manuel Esquivel was trying to make Belizeans live within their means.

Then suddenly at the turn of the century, imports jumped to $ 1.029 billion dollars, while exports remained nearly the same at some $ 300 + million dollars. The trade deficit shot up to over $ 638 million dollars (62% of imports), and with it the rate of poverty to 33%. The deal between the merchants and the foreign owners of the tourist product was now sealed.  As 2008 came to a close Belize was importing $ 1.7 billion dollars per year and selling $ 960 million dollars resulting in a trade deficit of about $ 796 million dollars. The rate of poverty also climbed to 43%.  In 2019 Belize imported goods at a value of about $ 1.971 billion dollars. We sold $ 924 million in goods ($36 million dollars less than 2008) and had a trade deficit of $ 1.047 billion dollars, while the poverty rate had climb to 54.8%.

Notice the trend; imports increased and exports could not keep up. Local manufacturing fell, foreign debt increased, and more Belizeans entered poverty.

The Solution

Debt cannot be created without the physical economy’s ability to repay the debt. Every year some 5,000 persons join or attempt to join the labour-force. And we currently have 110,000 workers below the poverty-line. Government exists because we need a “brain” to run an economy. Government must create or cause to be created at least 14,000 new jobs each year in Belize. Where can these jobs come from?  In the military; research; education and health; manufacturing; infrastructure to build roads, canals, building; and especially family farms. The jobs in the military, education, health, and research are not productive but vital to our society. The workers in agriculture, mining and manufacturing must carry them plus government (the brain of the economy). These new jobs must pay more than $ 400 per week, and the family farm must earn at least $ 28,000 per year.

Look, Belize cannot now pay its average low-skill worker $ 10 per hour and remain competitive in today’s world. The minimum wage should now be raised from $ 3.25 to $ 5 per hour. In the real physical economy, wages depend on the intelligence of the worker and on the level of technology used in the process of production in agriculture and manufacturing. Note: technology is not computers or IT. Belize needs to “leap-frog” to new technology such as CNC machine tools, robotics, and automation. Any machine we buy must be of the latest technology. Doing only light manufacturing is to preserve backwardness.

Now to create those 14,000 new jobs will require at least $ 1.4 billion dollars per year in new investments. And where will Belize get it from?

The government must borrow Bz $ 630 million per year (USD $ 315 million) from foreign countries such as Brazil, USA, India, China, Germany, Russia, Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan to buy machinery and equipment – to buy technology – not “spring” water or goods we can produce ourselves.  The Central Bank should increase the local money supply by some $ 245 million dollars per year (free money – no interest) the National Bank of Belize (our financial independence) will create as debt (loans) some $ 385 million dollars as long term loans at 1.5% to 2% interest per year for only agriculture, manufacturing, infrastructure, and research.

The regular credit unions and commercial banks should continue their regular services to Belizeans.  Banks are not in the business of giving away money, so the person with a new idea never get funds to experiment or try his new venture. Only government can perform that service. And when it’s time for a Jubilee (to cancel loans), only government can do that as PM Barrow has showed in his first term in 2008 – 2012.  And remember that Belize cannot print nor create United States Dollars. Therefore, if our Central Bank and National Bank print and create some $ 630 million dollars per year, then at least $ 400 million dollars must be cut from imports in order to protect our dollar peg.

As I have written before, why not clean, clear the border with Guatemala and every 25 feet, plant a coconut tree?  If we plant the coconut trees up to a mile into Belize from the border, the Belize people and government will end up with about 64,000 acres of coconut farms.  This amount of coconut trees could yield some 103 million litres of virgin high quality coconut oil. We can export this oil to Taiwan which recently signed a partial free trade agreement with Belize. The value of the oil should be some USD $ 412 million or B $ 824 million per year. And when we add in the by-products, such as, flour, activated charcoal, etc. the foreign exchange will be more that USD $ 1.2 billion dollars.

To produce this amount of coconut products we need the 700 security personnel, in addition to 1,300 skill workers, 800 factory workers and about 8,000 youths-at-risk, as well as 50 administrative personal from the civil service.  All the gang-bangers will be sent to boot-camp to be educated, disciplined, and trained. And they will each work in the coconut farms some 4 days per week and attend school for 2 days per week. They will be paid $ 10,400 per year. Schools, churches, health facilities, apartments, shops, and entertainment centres will be established within the one mile zone of the border from North to South.

Belize imports about B $ 19 million dollars’ worth of oils and fats each year. Most of it is vegetable fats loaded with omega-6 – linoleic acid which is the leading cause of diabetes, obesity and other insulin resistance, and metabolic diseases. The simple coconut project will ensure that Belize is self-sufficient in oils and fats and also solve a deadly health problem.  And Belizean workers will be gainfully employed instead of foreigners.

We hear every day the nonsense that Government is broke. By definition, no sovereign government can be broke.

A sovereign government has two powers no individual has – it can tax (legally put its hands in your pocket); and it can create new money.  Some USD $ 18 million must be foreign exchange to buy machinery, equipment and some fertilizers each year. Most fertilizers and machinery will be made in Belize from Belizean raw materials and labour. Belize’s government cannot create that foreign exchange. At present our government does not have the USD $ 18 million dollars per year. So where do we find it?  We borrow it from Taiwan. Already our government is talking to Taiwan for a loan to bail-out the merchants by giving them access to foreign exchange so they can continue to import a lot of unnecessary foolishness. So, is it not better to borrow from our Taiwanese friends so that we can improve the lives of our Belizeans who gave the PUP such an overwhelming mandate to better their lives, not better the merchant’s lives, especially those who wants to supress our Taiwanese friends?

This one project will solve the border problem with Guatemala; create over 10,000 new jobs in just four years; solve the crime problem; reduce the trade deficit not by 50% in ten years, but reduce it by 80% in 4 years; and, increase government revenue by 68% in under 3 years. Plus the health of Belizeans will drastically improve with the consumption of less linoleic acid.

At my blog (bill-lindo.com) I have written a several articles on how to develop/industrialize Belize because we  have known for many years that the economy of Belize cannot continue as a parasitic economy based on exploitation of man by man for the benefit of the oligarchical few. We must turn to George Price’s mixed economy to end poverty and the pursuit of happiness as our Constitution demands.

The new PUP government under the leadership of John Briceno should institute the mixed economy of George Priceexploiting nature rather than men, tariff protection of local agriculture and manufacturing because free trade has always benefit the strong at the expense of the weak, and high wages to workers

Our problem is that the vast majority of us have been mis-educated. The way we think is our problem. Most will go for the “the low hanging fruits”. But we should remember the wise words of that American who was assassinated because of trying to bring back the American System of Capitalism to the United States – John F. Kennedy at Rice University: “We choose to go the Moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard.”

The “key” to genuine development and full economic independence which will not reduce but rather eradicate poverty and create full employment in Belize –the objective of the philosophy of the nationalists of Belize, the George Price way — is advanced developments in basic economic infrastructure combined with rapid increases in energy flux densities per capita and per square mile. Government as the “brain” is the only institutional force which can implement it. As stated above, only some 34% of Belize’s economy rests on production (agriculture, mining, and manufacturing) the largest part – 66% is tourism and distribution – invisibles as the British calls it – foundations of sand. No economy with less than 45% of its GDP as production (agriculture, mining, and manufacturing) can provide a high standard of living for its citizens.

At the core of Hamilton, Lincoln, Kennedy, Price and this writer’s policy is the concept that wealth comes from the productive powers of labour, not from money, raw materials, land or any physical object. And that this must be through advances in science and technology which are driven by those unique powers of human creative reason.  As I continue to write, “Genuine development is an act of human creation – it is a complete change of our present culture – a reversal from hopelessness and hedonism to one of progress, but it is hard work, not easy work.

End of the Nation-State of Belize or a New Beginnings?

By Bill Lindo

Belize City, February 10th, 2021:  On Thursday January 28th 2021 two events occurred that signal either the end of our nation-state called Belize or the beginning of a New Just Economic Order. Our actions as humans made in the image of our Creator will determine our future.

First, in Belize the Senate ratified a Treaty – “Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of the Foreign Arbitral Awards”— ending the little Independence Belize had left, and second at Davos, the international elites/oligarchy held their zoom conference on the future of their Great Reset/Green New Deal. This Green New Deal is why some persons were made Ambassadors; they work for the global elites, not Belize.

One of the hallmarks of independence is that nation-states rule themselves. No State, nor its judiciary and judges have any authority outside of their national borders. Put in simple English, no judge in Chetumal, nor Guatemala City can order any citizen of Belize to do anything in Belize. Their authority stops at the border. This so-called New York Convention is a colonial outgrowth of the imperial world order. It’s a fact of life that no third world nation-state nor citizen has won, and probably never will win a case in any foreign European, or American, and especially in any City of London Court. The “bacra man” always wins in his country.

George Price did NOT ratify the treaty. Manuel Esquivel did NOT ratify the treaty. Said Musa did NOT ratify the treaty. Dean Barrow did NOT ratify the treaty. Why? Because they love Belize and believe in the sovereignty and independence of Belize.

Remember — in Belize when the House of Representatives passes a law, the Senate says Aye. But it is NOT law in Belize until the Queen’s representative, the Governor-General signs. If a treaty is not ratified by the Senate that treaty has NO effect in Belize. Period.

Now let’s turn our attention to the second thing that occurred on Thursday, Jan 28th – the zoom conference of the global elites/oligarchy, the Davos crowd.

First, UN Secretary-General Guterres called for the end of National Sovereignty. He said that as the elites get their way, NGO’s, political leaders, bankers, and the corporations will all rule equally in the future.  Of course speaker after speaker called for the Culling of the Herd (killing the masses of peoples) to save the earth from humans and for re-education of the masses to accept their coming enslavement.

Looking at the parading global elite at Davos, at Joe Biden’s executive order frenzy, and at the illegal impeachment trial of Donald Trump, you might be excused for feeling some measure of despair. Two things should rapidly make you change that response. First, the elite’s frenzy is driven by the fact that their financial bubble is doomed and thus their need for absolute control.  Yes, for the last couple of weeks, the financial press have been sending smoke-signals of the coming collapse of the bubble because of the enormous debts that cannot be repaid. Debts always create a mess – either a jubilee or destructive austerity and sometimes – war.

But, Belizeans, we need to turn to the issue of money and debt to understand what is happening especially in Belize since the last general elections of November 11th 2021.

Many myths (lies) about money exists today especially in our backwards Belize. Sovereign money (coins and dollar notes) still exists in Belize but it is just about 30% or less of the supply of money in circulation. The bulk of money today is created by private commercials banks – Belize Bank, Atlantic Bank and Heritage Bank. Inquiring minds are asking why the sale of Scotia Bank has not been completed. Is it because the tax payers will pay again? The US Federal Reserve, the IMF, and the Bank of England (March 2014, 1st Quarter Publications) publically acknowledge that banks create or conjure money as debts out of thin air.  Rather than do as governments have done for over ten thousand years, using their sovereign power over money creation as say Alexander the Great did, governments have become borrowers from the private sector. And if there’s a need for large scale spending for say a road or bridge or now with the Covid 19 mess, it’s expected that the government will borrow the money from the private sector or increase taxes, rather than create the money and thus pay no interest – free money. Remember that basing a money supply on debt creates economic, political and social problems.

Basing money on debt is socially discriminatory because not all citizens are in a position to take on debt. This has always tended to favour the rich or the most speculative risk-taker.  The economic problem is that money supply depends not on production and distribution, but instead on various elements of society to take on more debt. Debt bubbles, and credit crunches are now more frequent. And the political problem is that creditors always try to capture governments.

This neo-liberal (handbag economics as British Economist Mary Mellor calls it) or (parasitic economics as American Economist Michael Hudson calls it) creates an impossible task for the private sector.  It must create new money through bank-issued debt and repay it all with interest, where the interest is not created; and in addition, it must fund the public sector and generate a profit for its investors.

But when the privatised bank-led money supply gets into trouble, it is the money creating powers of the government (Central Bank) that comes back into clear focus. Recently, the 2007/2008 financial crisis was salvaged/rescued when the central banks created new money to bail-out the bankers in the process known as quantitative easing.

The burning question of our time is, if the state as represented by the central bank can create money out of thin air to save banks – why can’t that same central bank create free money to save the people?

Because of the myths (lies) about money we look at public spending and taxation the wrong way. Handbag economics assumes that it is taxation of the private sector that is raising the money to fund the government. Taxation takes money out of the taxpayers’ pocket or as Evan X use to say, the politicians put their hand in your pocket and legally take what they want. But the long history of money indicates that this is false to reality. In the same way banks can create money out of thin air to make loans, governments can conjure money out of thin air to fund public spending. Banks create money by setting up bank accounts, states create money by allocating budgets. So, please Messrs Politician, stop saying the government is broke. It can never be true by definition. Through its accounts in the treasury and the central bank, our government is constantly spending and taking in money. If it spends more than it takes in, it leaves more money in people’s pockets. This then creates a budget deficit or what we call an overdraft at the central bank. So what’s the problem? The state is not some dependent household. The government is the authority behind the money system. The ability by the banks to create money out of thin air derives from the government.

If one looks at the model of the accountant, the economy is abstract. Take for example a firm that produces steel. The direct costs such as limestone and iron ore (materials), machinery (saved labour) and labour are needed to make the steel. Profits emerge after deducting the direct costs from the sales. Then the overheads, the items that do nothing to produce the steel must be deducted. This is the age-old conflict of human society, between the producers and the free-loaders – the ones who skim off the top but do nothing to produce value.  The higher the overheads of production in the firms, industry or society, the less is left to cover the costs of human labour and material and the machines to cause the production of steel from iron ore.

What is this overhead? The administrative costs of supervising, costs for promotion and sales ads, and the largest unnecessary cost is finance – payments to the bankers. Most will say that because modern society cannot operate without credit, the role of the banker and their fees and interest charges are necessary.  But this is not really true.  In a productive economy interest charges for agriculture, mining, and industry is about 3% on a reducing balance and 2% or less for infrastructure. In the ancient world of Eurasia, the Palaces of Persia, etc. interest charges were high, about 14%, but debts were periodically forgiven so as to assure the stability of society.  This was also true in old Israel. This is why the Church especially, the late Pope John Paul II insisted on a Jubilee. This practice of cancelling debts in the Western world came to an end with the political murder of Julius Caesar. He had told the Roman Senate that for his Coronation as the First Emperor of Rome all debts would be forgiven. The assassination, made famous by Shakespeare, was the Senate’s response to his Jubilee.

What the Covid 19 pandemic has brought to the fore is the age-old question of who loses when business activity and employment are disrupted?  Will it be the creditors and corporations at the top of the economic scale or debtors and renters at the bottom?  In Belize this was decided on November 11th 2020. Regardless what the politicians say, the facts speak for themselves. The oligarchy of bankers and their corporate cronies won the November 11th 2020 general elections in Belize. The carpetbaggers (corrupt professional class) have been put in charge of the running the government. Nearly every board of directors has been populated with people who owe allegiance to the bankers and their corporate flunkies. The Foreign Service is now littered with people who work or owe allegiance to the oligarchy. Period. The Peoples United Party seems to have been captured by the creditors and their cronies.

The generals of the PUP and their supporters have been left in the cold.  On February 5th 2021 the new government passed an amendment to the Central Bank of Belize Act to give permission to the Central Bank to create money to lend as cheap bail-out for the big boys because of the disruption caused by Covid 19. Of course, the carpetbaggers will say as their mentor Margaret Thatcher said, “There is no alternative”.

But, Belizeans, there is and has always been an alternative.  History has taught us that economic disruption has always required a central authority to override “market forces” to restore economic balance. So-called “individualistic economies” cannot restore balance. These types of economies are always controlled by oligarchic forces especially the financial sector for its own interests in tandem with its symbiotic real estate sector and monopolized distribution sector.  This is why every successful society since the Bronze Age (around 3,000 BC) has been a mixed economy. George Price knew this – that’s why he insisted on a mixed economy for Belize. The determining factor in whether or not an economic disruption (Covid 19 pandemic) leaves a crippled economy in its wake always turns out to be whether its financial sector is a public utility or is privatized with its attendant debt-strapped public domain as a means to enrich bankers at the expense of the debtors and the overall balance of the national economy.

The American System has always insisted on the financial sector as a public utility. In fact, the Creed/Philosophy/Bible of the Peoples United Party (PUP) insists that money creation and control is a public utility and should be under the control of the elected representatives of the people of Belize, certainly not the bankers cabal.

In terms of Covid 19 pandemic, look at Belize and then look at China. The differences are as stark as night and day.  China is a mixed economy. Their leaders know that unless personal and corporate debts, rents and taxes that cannot be paid are forgiven/cancelled/annulled, the result will be widespread bankruptcy, homelessness and impoverishment.  The leaders of China have demanded that debts accumulated because of lack of economic activity caused by the Covid 19 pandemic be cancelled or postponed. Here in Belize we are doing the opposite. Our bankers are insisting on collecting debts eventhough they cannot be paid. So, we changed the Central Bank Act to allow the bank to create monies at rates of interest of 3% or less to bailout the big boys so their projects become “bankable”. But the people? NO WAY. BTL Board is demanding payment of the 30,000 + who owe it.

Take the public sector workers, for many decades public employees accepted low wages in exchange for pensions. Their choice was to defer the demand for good wages in order to secure good pensions for their retirement.  But now these Belizeans who voted for the PUP in the November 11th 2020 elections will see the money ostensibly saved for their pensions given by the government to the bondholders of Belize’s debts.  And we all know that after March the public work force will be severely cut in order to pay the bondholders.

But it does not have to be like this. As I have written before, every successful economy on planet Earth has been a mixed public/private economy with checks on the financial sector’s power to limit the ways that it can impoverish that society. Always, the issue is who will control government. We know from history that as the society becomes more debt ridden it will become more oligarchic as our Belize has become.

But I will sound a note of warning to the carpetbaggers who act for the oligarchical forces. I know you are shameless and don’t care. Beware of history. What you are doing now in Belize is not new in history. In 1919, the oligarchy in Great Britain and France demanded that Germany not only pay its own debts but those of the allies as well.  By the 1930s the result was Fascism, also known as Corporatism or Nazism. Germany, Italy and Japan’s turn to Fascism eventually led to World War II. To defeat this Fascism the Russian people gave-up 27 million of its population, the Chinese gave up 20 million persons, and the Jews gave up 6 million persons. The total dead in order to defeat Fascism in 1945 was 65 million lives.  Nothing evil lasts forever. God is not dead.

Yes, Belize has lots of economic problems, but they are not without solutions. At least 65,000 workers of a possible 185,000 (35%) are without a job. Exports are down, but imports are also down as demand has collapsed in the wake of the Covid 19 mess.  And most important, we have about 42,000 persons in Belize who need a “hand-out” from government so that they can eat and stay alive. Meanwhile, government revenues have fallen about 15% to 23%. This means that the typical $ 100 million dollar deficit in every budget year is now bigger. It is estimated at $ 300 million dollars now. In practical terms, the overdraft at the Central Bank will now go from $ 100 to $ 300 million dollars per year. This domestic debt is easily remedied.  All Belize dollars are back-stopped by the Central Bank of Belize which is 100% owned by the people and government of Belize.  Therefore, to address this domestic debt, or not, is a political decision – nothing else.

There is not only no need to fire or reduce the wages of government workers, but the PUP should at once start to think about the people, the common man and woman of Belize – the salt of our jewel.  Create the 50,000 high paying jobs we promised them. The elites are quite capable of defending their own interests.

The National Bank of Belize must be empowered by depositing at least half of the government revenue or half-billion dollars in our own bank so that it can create at least $ 850 million a year in new loans for infrastructure, manufacturing, mining and agriculture. Nothing else. The commercial banks will never lend to these sectors, so let our Belizean bank do what it was set up to do – develop Belize[1] into a modern industrial nation-state.

Recently, one of the richest men in the world, Jack Ma of the largest e-commerce company, Alibaba, was floating an IPO for USD $ 32 billion dollars on the Hong Kong and Shanghai Markets for Ant a new company. The Chinese government stopped it. Jack Ma is the 20th richest man in the entire world according to Forbes magazine. The Chinese government of Xi said Jack Ma will NEVER be allowed to become more powerful than the people and government of China.  If continued, Ant, along with Alibaba, Taobao and Alipay would gain monopoly status in China, and the little man would be crushed. China would not have it.

Many years ago, George Price did the same when the richest man at that time, billionaire Daniel K. Ludwig came to Belize to build a tree farm to make wood pulp. Mr Price ran him out of Belmopan. Later, the Brazilian government also drove him from Brazil because of his predatory practices.  Years later, I asked Mr Price why he was opposed to Ludwig.  He told me Ludwig was too big for Belize. He would have taken over the government and the Belizean people would eventually become his slaves. This is the mind-set of nationalists like Xi in China and George Price of Belize. China’s government is and will always be the ultimate creditor. No politically powerful banker will insist what policies the government and people of China will pursue.  Politically powerful bankers should also not insist that the average citizen of Belize must lose and not themselves when there are “acts of God” like the Covid 19 pandemic.

Belizeans, until we break completely with the monetarist system of Wall Street, London and Market Square, and return to George Price’s and Alexander Hamilton’s system of credit, national banking and productive investment we will remain under the economic control of the Empire. So, Belizeans, we have two choices – George Price’s basically productive public financial American system or a British predatory financial system of London and Wall Street.

At the core of Hamilton, Lincoln, Price and this writer’s policy is the concept that wealth comes from the productive powers of labour, not from money, raw materials, land or any physical object. And that this must be through advances in science and technology which are driven by those unique powers of human creative reason.  As I wrote in January, “Genuine development is an act of human creation – it is a complete change of our present culture – a reversal from hopelessness and hedonism to one of progress.

Why did PUP win Elections Nov. 11th 2020″?

By Bill Lindo

Belize City, January 24th 2021:  There is no single reason nor answer to the above question. Some say well the Belizean electorate was tired of the United Democratic Party (UDP).  Others say it was because the Peoples United Party (PUP) was better financed. And some others believe that the PUP election machinery was better. A sizable amount of the middle-class said it was because of UDP corruption. And others believe it was that the PUP promised better education.

But the main reasons were the issues of jobs and land. Now the oligarchs don’t like this jobs and land things.

Let’s deal with the land issue first. In the middle of the eighteen century, one of The United States of America founders, Ben Franklin wrote:

“There seem to be but three ways for a nation to acquire wealth. The first is by war, as the Romans did, in plundering their conquered neighbours. This is robbery. The second by commerce, which is generally cheating. The third by agriculture, the only honest way, wherein man receives a real increase of the seed thrown into the ground, in a kind of continual miracle, wrought by the hand of God in his favour, as a reward for his innocent life and his virtuous industry.”

Following Franklin’s theory, when the Belizean farmer puts twenty pounds of corn seeds in the dirt, after three months that farmer in Belize can harvest from two thousand up to ten thousand pounds of corn. This is honest work, and for his honest work, God rewards the farmer with an increase of 100 to 500 times his input, depending on the skill and technology (engineering know-how) used by the farmer in the growing of the corn.

Belize is a small country in the heart of the Caribbean basin with a small population of some 400,000 persons. The country has some 5.6 million acres of land on the mainland. Still, land is limited especially for agriculture, as some 44% of the land consists of mostly steep slopes, the Maya mountains, and a lot of lime karsts. Then there is the “pine ridge” savannah with poor drainage, and shallow top soils, sometimes less than ten inches. (These “pine-ridge” soils can be made very productive as Brazil has done using the method of “mineralization” and in particular, adding calcium to the soil; but presently, this isn’t necessary.) This only leaves some 36%, or about 2,028,200 acres of Belize’s land area as suitable for agriculture, of which some 150,000 acres is now used for pastures and 213,500 acres for crops. The remainder of land, about 1,664,700 acres or 2,600 square miles, while spread over all six districts, is mostly located in the Stann Creek and Toledo districts.

However, of that vast majority of the 2,600 square miles of land suitable for agriculture about 90% are in the hands of private foreign absentee land owners.  The national government will have to compensate those land owners for the local Belizeans to own a piece of the jewel.  Over the last forty years every government has been doing that.

Historically, past governments, especially the George Price governments have taken over 1,000 square miles (640,000 acres) from absentee land owners for distribution to native Belizeans. Many villages and even Corozal Town land were nationalized by the George Price PUP so that the people of that municipality could own the land that their houses sit on.

Now human beings have three basic requirements for life on this planet we call Earth – food, clothing and shelter. These three are supplied from the land. The land is where the nutrient-dense foods are grown which gives us the energy to sustain life and health. We are what we eat. And that same land is where the cloths that we wear comes from like cotton, which is grown on the land; the petroleum from under the ground that produces the nylon, and polyester; or the sheep that grazes on the land and eats the products of the land and gives us wool.  The houses we build to shelter us from the elements sit on land. The timber, stone, cement, iron we use to build them all come from the land.

So, Belizeans do you see why land is so important. What does Guatemala want? LAND!

The PUP in its Manifesto – Plan Belize — promised the Belizean People that they will make sure that every citizen owns a piece of land, and has access to fertile family farm land, with priority given to first time land ownership for women and young families. Some 60,000 house lots or 15,000 acres will be distributed in the next four years according to the Hon. Cordel Hyde. In addition, 250,000 acres (390 sq. miles) will be distributed as family farms to Belizeans who wish to make farming a life venture.

On Thursday, January 14th 2021, Hon. Cordel Hyde, Minister of Natural Resources (lands) and Deputy Prime Minister of Belize travelled to Dangriga Town to meet potential first time land owners. Close to two hundred Belizeans showed up at his Dangriga office and over one hundred of their applications were processed.  Observers were stunned that the people were well behaved and in good spirits. This shows the pent-up demand for land in this country.  And more importantly that the people believed Hon. Cordel Hyde.  This was evident in the recent election of November 11th 2020 when the PUP won 26 of 31 seats and Hon. Cordel Hyde received for the first time in Belize’s history some 90% of the votes casted in his division. The Electorate believed that he will deliver on his promise of 60,000 house lots and 250,000 acres of family farm land for the Belizean people.

The promise to distribute land to the landless will also help to reduce the grinding poverty affecting our beautiful country since the big boys tricked us with their Covid-19 madness. Covid-19 only affects the poor and the weak. Anyone with a robust immune system need not fear Covid 19.   Covid-19 now has our beautiful country of Belize with over 60% rate of poverty. Cordel and the George Price wing of the PUP will use land to reduce our grinding poverty by over 20%, but the key to eradicate poverty as promised in the Bible/Creed of the PUP is to cause full employment in Belize.

The PUP promised the Belizean voters that they will cause or create more than 50,000 jobs (10,000 per year) if elected.  This figure was from 2018 when research was being done to decide the extent of the economic problems the Belizean economy had. Since Covid-19, an additional 18,000 must be added to the 50,000 necessary high paying jobs. A country with its rich resources such as Belize can easily create some 13,600 per year, new high paying jobs with wages of at least $20,000 per year. This is easily doable.

But our problem is that there is only one Cordel Hyde.  The majority of the non-George Price PUP are not interested in creating any new jobs. They only wanted to win. In fact, Rado has embarrassed the PUP with his nonsense on TV that he is firing the small vulnerable men and women because he can’t fire the big UDP’s. So, the small vulnerable persons must pay the price of voting for the PUP, while the big fat cats who have supported the UDP for the last 12 years continue to enjoy the sweets?  And to make matters worse he is going around in the Party lobbying others with his ridiculous opinion that the government should sell its shares in the national telephone company (BTL) for some 25 million dollars to the “bacra man” across the pond after this country paid over $550 million for that same BTL.  As one of my good long-time PUP friends recently remarked, “My voice has become meek and no one listens…My country for thee I worry…”

Smart people will ask why doesn’t the PUP, with its American System Creed/Philosophy, do the right thing and rule by the people, for the people? The answer is, a mis-education of our baby-boomer children, who all mostly went to universities, but were mis-educated. They believe with their whole heart the nonsense that the private sector is the sole creator of wealth. “The sole source of wealth is the rise in the productivity of human labour effected through technological progress.” (Lindo, 1995)  Money is NOT wealth. Wealth is saved labour.  Money is a means to exchange wealth.

One of the fundamental differences between the American System — the George Price System, and the British System is the following:

Technology and innovation always cause new methods to enter production and thus profits and wages don’t diminish but instead leads to higher productivity and thus higher wages to workers.      Technology, the invention of something new, especially the application of scientific knowledge to develop new machinery and equipment – always leads to higher productivity, thus increasing both profits and wages, leading to a harmony of interests – not class warfare.

Therefore, the theory of Diminishing Returns is not valid to physical reality.   A stupid theory that has been taught by all the British economists from the Rev. Thomas Malthus, Marshall, John Keynes, and the modern versions pushed in today’s schools is that Capitalism has the seed of its own destruction within it. In fact, Keynes said that the best way to postpone this dreadful day is not to invest in productive activities such as building two railway lines from York to London, but instead better to build two pyramids – two tombs for the dead.

Rev. Thomas Malthus advocated that the landlords of old, today’s bankers, should be allowed to take at least 40% off the top of any productive venture such as agriculture and manufacturing, especially so as to ensure that Capitalism will endure in the future. For many years it was understood that one of government’s main function was to regulate and tax away rentier income and interest from loans because they are unproductive income and a drain upon society. The “free loafer” doesn’t sow, but wants 50% of the proceeds for doing nothing after the worker has reaped.  Even the Western classical economist such as Adam Smith and David Ricardo were against the “free loafer” called economic rent– especially by landlords. They considered it a “free-lunch”. Why? Speculators always try to borrow, to create debt, to buy such rent extracting privileges. Instead of a “market” in which rent was paid as taxes, the “free-lunch” was financialized – it was capitalized into bank loans to be paid out as interest or dividends. Banks then gain at the expense of the tax collector, and thus, the lower classes lose as governments go broke and cut social services.

The George Price premise is that within one or two decades Belize will achieve nearly full economic independence by pursuing a national policy that stimulates higher (physical) economic productivity and development and that eradicates poverty through self-reliance and full employment.  Inthis statement the objective is very clear – the end result of economic activities and policy must be for the common good “Regulating the economy solely by centralized planning perverts the basis of social bonds; regulating it solely by the law of the marketplace fails social justice.” (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1994).

What is needed is a foundation on which the future development of Belize can rest. An excellent idea is the irrigation of some 3,000 square miles (2 million acres) of Belize’s territory to take advantage of its abundant supply of fresh water, available land, wonderful climate, and a basic educated labour-force, all in the wake of the continuing Covid-19 crisis. Make no mistake – only agriculture can create something from nothing. A farmer plants 20 pounds of seed in the soil and after a mere 90 days gets back from the soil some 2,000 to 10,000 pounds of grain. The only other way is using violence to steal or make war on others. Abbie, we support you. Protect the local farmers – all of them.

Equally important, this great project would create the opportunity for life-long, meaningful employment for the people of Belize. All viable development, not mere monetary growth, must rest on some foundation, a foundation that is based on the physical economy, which we usually call an “impossible dream” – not on some practical plan which can be done in four or five years. This is why during the period 1958 to 1988 the so-called import substitution growth plans of Latin American countries all failed. Building industry just because you want to follow others will always fail.

This impossible dream, while you may even think of it as utopic, is something which challenges the human mind. Two historic realities may apply here.  Firstly, in 1950 the Peoples United Party (PUP) demanded political Independence from a major world power, Great Britain. For over 30 years the PUP was a laughing stock to most “practical” people because of its insistence for political Independence in Belize, that is, until September 21st, 1981 when the British flag no longer flew over the nation-state of Belize.  The other historic reality is United States President Jack Kennedy’s 1961 decision that by 1970 the United States would not only send a man to the moon but also bring him back alive. People, practical people, laughed at Kennedy. In 1961 it was impossible to send a man to the moon, much less bring him back alive. The technology – the knowledge did not exist; many things from small computers to lasers had to be developed to carry out the task of putting man on the moon. Everything we take for granted today — smart phones, lasers, portable computers, digital cameras, are as a result of the feat of putting Buzz Aldrin Jr. and Neil Armstrong on the moon on July 21st, 1969 and bringing them both back alive.

The “key” to genuine development and full Economic Independence which will not reduce but rather eradicate poverty and create full employment in Belize –the objective of the philosophy of the nationalists of Belize, the George Price way — is advance developments in basic economic infrastructure combined with rapid increases in energy flux densities per capita and per square mile. Genuine development is an act of human creation – it is a complete change of our present culture – a reversal from hopelessness and hedonism to one of progress.

I bring You Tidings of Comfort and Joy

By Bill Lindo

Belize City, Jan 3rd 2021:  About two years ago the Research Committee of the Peoples United Party (PUP) submitted to the National Executive Committee a report – A Belize Free of Poverty, which insisted that the strategic objectives of the PUP in government is to grow the economy at the rate of at least 10% per annum, in order to cut the unemployment rate (14% – 2018, now some 34% because of Covid 19) in half in 5 years, reduce the overall trade deficit by 50% in 10 years, cut the poverty rate (58% – 2018) in half in 5 years, and enhance citizen security for all Belizeans whether at home, in the streets and at our borders. In brief, a PUP-led Government will work towards a Belize that works for all.  In other words, the PUP will create a revolution – transforming Belize by creating 10,000 new jobs per year (50,000 new jobs in 5 years).

When the above was researched and written, there was no Covid 19 and no global economic collapse. On November 12th 2020, the PUP, having won an overwhelming victory, formed the new government and holds 25 out of 31 seats in the House of Representatives.

The political party of George Price is no ordinary political party. It was founded September 29th 1950. It’s now 70 years old. From the very beginning it was a political party devoted to the General Welfare/Common Good of the principle of man made in the image of his Creator – that policies of state must ensure the cognition, and reason, of every single Belizean citizen must be developed and cultivated, to develop all children, to develop all adults, equally, and to promote actively that General Welfare/Common Good, and to improve the condition of the present and future generations their General Welfare/Common Good. This is the only moral authority and the chief responsibility of a legitimate government.

Article Six of the Constitution of the People’s United Party details its Aims and Objectives[1].  It is in this Article that the support for the principle of the General Welfare/Common Good is based.  It provides the foundation for the crafting of a Political-Economy Policy for the PUP and any PUP-Government.

Article Six notes that Principal Aims and Objects of the PUP are:

  1. To consolidate and preserve National Unity, based on respect for equality of all citizens regardless of race, ethnicity, colour, disability, gender, creed or social status with due regard for all regions of Belize.
  • To defend and maintain the Independence of Belize, its territorial integrity, full sovereignty, and freedom of its people.
  • To achieve full Economic Independence by pursuing a national policy that stimulates higher economic productivity and development and that Eradicates Poverty through Self Reliance and Full Employment.
  • To ensure that Belize is governed by a Democratic Government.
  • To ensure that every Belizean has the Right to freedom of expression, of movement, of religious belief, of association, and the Right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness based on the principles of social justice.
  • To ensure that every Belizean has a Right to work, free from Victimization or discrimination and the Right to organize, unionize, and strike, and that they receive a just return for their Labour based on a living wage, a fair share of the national wealth, and a continuously improving quality of life.
  • To ensure that our Natural Resources are owned controlled and managed in order to ensure the benefit for the Belizean people with Maximum Belizean Ownership and Management.
  • To ensure that every Belizean has equal access to Quality, Relevant and Practical Education from pre-school to university with a special emphasis on Universal Secondary School enrolment and completion.
  • To ensure that all Belizeans have equal access to Quality and Universal Health Care.
  1. To vigorously pursue policies and programmes that protect and promote children, the Youths, the Elderly, Women and those who are Mentally or Physically challenged.
  1. To work for world peace and security through regional cooperation and the United Nations on the principle of the Interest of the Other.
  1. To participate in Elections at all levels with a view to forming national, municipal, village and community governments to achieve the preceding.

The Economic Policy of George Price’s PUP is very clear – its principal aim is the Economic Independence of Belize.

The Economic Independence of Belize must be achieved through efforts that promote:

  1. Self-Reliance through high economic productivity.  This leads to full employment and the eradication of poverty;
  2. That the creation of money and control thereof in all its forms, including the national currency is, and remains the sole responsibility of the people through their duly elected representatives;
  • That it is the sacred duty of government to intervene actively in the economic life of the nation in order to achieve full employment and the eradication of poverty and secure a better life for all Belizeans;
  • Every Belizean has the right to work, the right to unionize and to strike;
  • Every employed Belizean MUST receive a just return for their labour and MUST be based on a living wage;
  • The quality of life MUST improve for every Belizean;
  • Belize belongs to Belizeans and they MUST receive the maximum benefits from the resources of Belize.

The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic now demands that the government must create 18,000 new jobs per year for the next three years.   How will this be done?

The Mayor of Belize City admitted that he made a mistake when he was given the opportunity by the Party Leader, to create 1,500 new jobs in Belize City in April 2020 and he refused. Over the Christmas holidays he recanted and now agrees that starting the last week of January 2021, the Belize City Council will create 1,200 new jobs in the following areas: community gardens; sewing of uniforms and school bags; cleaning/beautification of yards; manufacturing of fresh healthy organic juices; and the production of plastic goods.

The national government will invest some $ 10 million in Belize City to create the 1,200 jobs because an election is on the horizon, and those 1,200 jobs will put some $ 1.75 million dollars per month as wages in the depressed community of the city and return $ 200,000 + per month to the coffers of government, and another $ 150,000 to City Hall. Plus the original sum of $ 10 million will be repaid in three or four years’ time; and after that, the Council will be earning some $ 8 million per year from its investment in the City.

On the national scene the George Price PUP government will create some 10,850 + new jobs between January and March 2021.  Already each of the 31 divisions have been asked by the Minister of Home Affairs to submit the names of about ten persons from their area to become new policemen and women. In addition, each division will also be submitting twelve names for the BDF. The new intake of nearly 700 will be posted at the border with Guatemala after a suitable training period. Belize’s border with Mexico is mostly the Rio Hondo River and thus easy to recognised and managed. But the Western border with Guatemala is over 100 miles of bush and no side really knows where the border is.  In the days before Independence, the British had it clearly marked with stone. The border needs to be cleared and cleaned.

Well, why not clean, clear the border with Guatemala and every 25 feet, plant a coconut tree?  If we plant the coconut trees up to a mile into Belize from the border, the Belize people and government will end up with about 64,000 acres of coconut farms.  This amount of coconut trees could yield some 103 million litres of virgin high quality coconut oil. We can export this oil to Taiwan which recently signed a free trade agreement with Belize. The value of the oil should be some USD $ 412 million or B $ 824 million per year. And when we add in the by-products, such as, flour, activated charcoal, etc. the foreign exchange will be more that USD $ 1.2 billion dollars.

To produce this amount of coconut products we need the 700 security personnel that are currently being hired, in addition to 1,300 skill workers, 800 factory workers and about 8,000 youths-at-risk, as well as 50 administrative personal from the civil service.  All the gang-bangers will be sent to boot-camp to be educated, discipline, and trained. And they will each work in the coconut farms some 4 days per week and attend school for 2 days per week. On Sunday they will not work but attend Church services. They will be paid $ 10,400 per year. Schools, churches, health facilities, apartments, shops, and entertainment centres will be established within the one mile zone of the border from North to South.

Belize imports about B $ 19 million dollars’ worth of oils and fats each year. Most of it vegetable fats loaded with omega-6 – linoleic acid which is the leading cause of diabetes, obesity and other insulin resistance, and metabolic diseases. Belize will now be self-sufficient in oils and fats and also solve a deadly health problem.  And Belizean workers will be gainfully employed instead of foreigners.

The establishment of these farms entails land clearing, planting, fertilizers, and other inputs. The cost is about B $ 1,300/acre X 64,000 acres = B $ 83.2 million dollars, including B $ 185.3 million dollars for capital expenditures (buildings, machinery and equipment) or a total investment of B $ 268.5 million over 4 years or $ 67.125 million per year. Now we hear every day the nonsense that Government is broke. By definition, no sovereign government, especially a George Price PUP government can be broke.

Belize government cannot create that foreign exchange. At present our government does not have the USD $ 18 million dollars per year. So where do we find it?  We borrow it from Taiwan. Already our George Price PUP government is talking to Taiwan for a loan to bail-out the merchants by giving them access to foreign exchange so they can continue to import a lot of unnecessary foolishness. So, is it not better to borrow from our Taiwanese friends so that we can improve the lives of our Belizeans who gave us such an overwhelming mandate to better their lives, not better the merchant’s lives, especially those who wants to supress our Taiwanese friends?

The balance of B $ 49.125 million should come from our National Bank of Belize and Central Bank.  That’s their purpose – to create new money for our national government for the productive sector – agriculture, manufacturing and infrastructure.

The new George Price PUP government under the leadership of John Briceno will not only keep its Manifesto promises; but will institute the mixed economy of George PriceExploiting nature rather than men,  tariff protection of local agriculture and manufacturing because free trade has always benefit the strong at the expense of the weak,   high wages to workers, because as E. Peshine Smith, wrote: “In order to make labour-cheap, the labourer must be well-fed, well-clothed, well-lodged, well-instructed.”

In the following weeks, more details will be released.

[1] The Creed and Aims and Objectives of the Peoples United Party was first published in 1952 and amended at the 2010 National Convention under the leadership of Hon. John Briceno to state that full Economic Independence can only be achieved through self-reliance and full employment that Eradicates Poverty.

Christmas 2020

By Bill Lindo

Belize City, Dec 28th 2020: Every society has its elite, its patricians, its propertied classes, its gentry or in our neck of the woods – its Hidalgos.

They are the lucky ones. They are the smart ones…the educated ones … the ones with the Ph. D.s, the formulas, and the secrets.

Usually, they are the ones with all the money.

They write the laws, and count the votes. They also write the computer code. They sit on all the Boards, and God knows what else.

In ancient times, the elites claimed to have some inside track with God. The elite, used religion to stay in power.  To control. To rule.

Remember this,

We as Christians have just finished celebrating the birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in this unusual year of our Lord 2020.  With the birth of Christ the Redeemer, and the role of his Apostles, there was a new concept of man and his society, which was based on the foundations of the Classical Greek tradition, especially the ideas associated with the works of Plato. It was a powerful idea – the idea that man is not an animal. Man, unlike the other species, is capable of willfully increasing our species’ power in and over the universe. Our Christian Bible’s first chapter, Genesis, states: Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fishes of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” (English Standard Version of the Bible).

Continuing this is possible, because we have a power which is called cognition – the power to discover universal physical and other principles, to prove that those principles are correct, and to apply those principles in ways which enable us humans to increase mankind’s power in and over the universe and to improve the conditions of life of the human being. Now when this quality of cognition is combine with the determination to do good. To do good in the sense of improving the conditions of life of human beings through the use of this power – it was called in the Ancient Greek of Plato, Agape, which in English is love. But this love is not the love of man and woman, but the love that St. Paul wrote about in 1st Corinthians.

From the above flowed the events of 1776 – the events that shook the World. The first time in recorded history of the World (the over ten thousand years of recorded human history) a nation-state was willfully founded on the principle of man made in the image of his Creator – the Constitution of the United States of America which was mostly written by that American genius, Alexander Hamilton, an early and great American economist and one of the most brilliant American lawyers along with Ben Franklin.

From Franklin and Hamilton came the idea that a national government has no moral authority, except as it is founded on an absolute commitment to promote and defend the General Welfare/Common Good of all of its people, including their posterity. The only foundation of law, is the principle of the General Welfare/Common Good: that all human beings are equally made in the image of the Creator.  Therefore, it is our obligation to promote their General Welfare/Common Good as creatures of cognition, and reason, to develop and cultivate, to develop all children, to develop all adults, equally, and to promote actively that General Welfare/Common Good. To improve the condition of the present and future generations their General Welfare/Common Good. This is the only moral authority and the chief responsibility of legitimate government. Our concern as Belizeans and inhabitants of Planet Earth are the emergence of governments which correspond to this principle of the General Welfare/Common Good, which is the foundation of law in the Preamble of our Belizean Constitution and of the constitutional law of our PUP party.  Remember, George Price who gave us our Constitution as a nation-state (Belize) and the Constitution/Creed of the Peoples United Party, as a founder, was educated in America, not trained, before the year 1971.

The PUP of George Price have great things in store for his people, the people of Belize.

So, PUP’s make that commitment to define our being, our being the temple of liberty, make that the definition of our being a beacon of hope, and that defines our love, our Agape.  We owe the Belizean people, all of them, for the overwhelming trust they put in our great political party – the Peoples United Party.  We shall not let them down.

Our Agape will be their posterity!

The Great Reset: New Danger on the Horizon

By Bill Lindo

Belize City, Nov 2nd, 2020:  Most people in Belize are either taken up these days with finding a job/income, afraid of Covid 19 or with the General Elections of Nov 11th, 2020. But lurking in the shadows is a much more dangerous foe.

In the past it was called “The New World Order”, but that has been so discredited, that the wizard behind the curtain had to change the name to The Great Reset.  What is this Great Reset?

The Great Reset” is a new “social contract” that ties you to it through an electronic ID linked to your bank account and health records, and a “social credit” ID that will dictate every facet of your life.  While the COVID-19 pandemic is being used as a justification for the Great Reset movement, the agenda has nothing to do with health and everything to do with a long-term plan to monitor and control the world through digital surveillance and artificial intelligence.

The Great Reset and the Fourth Industrial Revolution are rebranded terms for the old “New World Order” melded with the trans-humanist movement. Technocracy (is the new name for Fascism) is an economic system of resource allocation that revolves around computer technology — in particular artificial intelligence, digital surveillance, and Big Data (5G) collection — and the digitization of industry and government, which in turn allows for the automation of “social engineering” and social rule, thereby doing away with the need for democratically elected leadership.

While the real plan is to usher in a tech-driven dystopia free of democratic controls, the elites speak of this plan as a way to bring us back into harmony with nature – the green new deal.  Importantly, the pandemic is being used to destroy local economies around the world, which will then allow the World Economic Forum to come in through the IMF and “rescue” debt-ridden countries through facilitated financial bailouts.

However, the price for this salvation is your personal freedom and liberty. And, again, one of the aspects of the Fascist plan is to eliminate nation borders and nationalism in general

Who are the main actors behind the “Great Reset”?

Bill Gates and the World Economic Forum with the United Nations which (while keeping a relatively low profile), appears to be at the heart of the “big boys” agenda.  Gates is also the largest money-bags to the World Health Organization — the medical branch of the U.N. Other key partners that play important roles in the implementation of the elites/globalist’s agenda include, foundations such as the Rockefeller Foundation, the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, the Ford Foundation, Bloomberg Philanthropies, the UN Foundation and George Soros’ Open Society Foundation; companies such as: Avanti Communications, a British provider of satellite technology with global connectivity. 2030 Vision, a partnership of technology giants to provide the infrastructure and technology solutions needed to realize the U.N.’s 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. 2030 Vision is also partnered with Frontier 2030, which is a partnership of organizations under the helm of the World Economic Forum. The major Wall Street Bankers/financiers. Google, the No. 1 Big Data collector in the world and a leader in AI services. MasterCard, which is leading the globalist charge to develop digital IDs and banking services. Salesforce, a global leader in cloud computing, the “internet of things” and artificial intelligence. Incidentally, Salesforce is led by Marc Benioff, who is also on the World Economic Forum’s board of directors, and Professor Klaus Schwab, chairman of the World Economic Forum.

Most Belizeans know little or nothing about the trans-humanist movement, or “Human 2.0,” which is to transcend biology into computer technology. Or, as Dr Carrie Madej of USA explains in a blog, to meld human biology with computer technology and artificial intelligence.  Two visible proponents of trans-humanism are Ray Kurzweil (director of engineering at Google since 2012) and Elon Musk (founder of SpaceX, Tesla and Neuralink).  According to Dr Madej, today, we may be standing at the literal crossroads of trans-humanism, thanks to the fast approaching release of one or more mRNA COVID-19 vaccines.

Many of the COVID 19 vaccines are not conventional vaccines. Their design is aimed at manipulating your very biology, and therefore have the potential to alter the biology of the entire human race.  Conventional vaccines train your body to recognize and respond to the proteins of a particular virus by injecting a small amount of the actual viral protein into your body, thereby triggering an immune response from your body and the development of antibodies.  This is not what happens with an mRNA vaccine. The theory behind these vaccines is that when you inject the mRNA into your cells, it will stimulate your cells to manufacture their own viral protein. The mRNA COVID-19 vaccine will be the first of its kind. No mRNA vaccine has ever been licensed before. And, to add insult to injury, they’re forgoing all animal safety testing.

Madej reviews some of the background of certain individuals participating in the race for a COVID-19 vaccine, which include Moderna co-founder Derrick Rossi, a Harvard researcher who successfully reprogrammed stem cells using modified RNA, thus changing the function of the stem cells. Moderna was founded on this concept of being able to modify human biological function through genetic engineering.

The mRNA vaccines are designed to instruct your cells to make the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein, the glycoprotein that attaches to the ACE2 receptor of the cell.  The idea is that by creating the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein, your immune system will mount a response to it and begin producing antibodies to the virus. However, as we now know, Moderna is having problems because both the CEO and CFO have, according to the Wall Street Journal dump their shares and sold everything, making some $ 350 million + dollars.

But the biggest insult by the globalists to our intelligence is the censorship of the news about the research done by genetic analysis using the Oak Ridge National Lab supercomputer called the Summit which has revealed an interesting new hypothesis that helps explain the disease progression of COVID-19. A September 1st, 2020, Medium article[1] by Thomas Smith reviewed the findings of what is now referred to as the “Bradykinin” hypothesis.

As reported by Smith, the computer crunched data on more than 40,000 genes obtained from 17,000 genetic samples. “Summit is the second-fastest computer in the world, but the process — which involved analysing 2.5 billion genetic combinations — still took more than a week. When Summit was done, researchers analysed the results. It was, in the words of Dr Daniel Jacobson, lead researcher and chief scientist for computational systems biology at Oak Ridge, a ‘eureka moment.’”

Bradykinin is a chemical that helps regulate your blood pressure and is controlled by your renin-angiotensin system (RAS). As explained in the Academic Press’ book on vitamin D (which has a significant impact on the RAS):

“The renin-angiotensin system (RAS) is a central regulator of renal and cardiovascular functions. Over-activation of the RAS leads to renal and cardiovascular disorders, such as hypertension and chronic kidney disease, the major risk factors for stroke, myocardial infarction, congestive heart failure, progressive atherosclerosis, and renal failure.”

The Bradykinin hypothesis provides a model that helps explain some of the more unusual symptoms of COVID-19, including its bizarre effects on the cardiovascular system. It also strengthens the hypothesis that vitamin D plays a really important role in the disease.

Your ACE2 receptors are the primary gateways of the virus, as the virus’ spike protein binds to the ACE2 receptor. As explained[2] by Smith:

“… COVID-19 infection generally begins when the virus enters the body through ACE2 receptors in the nose … The virus then proceeds through the body, entering cells in other places where ACE2 is also present … But once Covid-19 has established itself in the body, things start to get really interesting … The data Summit analysed shows that COVID-19 isn’t content to simply infect cells that already express lots of ACE2 receptors. Instead, it actively hijacks the body’s own systems, tricking it into up-regulating ACE2 receptors in places where they’re usually expressed at low or medium levels, including the lungs.

In this sense, COVID-19 is like a burglar who slips in your unlocked second-floor window and starts to ransack your house. Once inside, though, they don’t just take your stuff — they also throw open all your doors and windows so their accomplices can rush in and help pillage more efficiently.”

The end result is a Bradykinin storm, and according to the researchers, this appears to be an important factor in many of COVID-19’s lethal effects, even more so than the Cytokine storms associated with the disease. As Bradykinin accumulates, the more serious COVID-19 symptoms appear.  Mounting clinical data suggest COVID-19 is actually primarily a vascular disease rather than a respiratory one, and runaway Bradykinin build-up help explain this.

The good news is that since Bradykinin storms are to blame, there are a number of already existing drugs (Icatibant, Danazol, Stanozolol) that can help prevent Bradykinin storms, and there are many other safe, inexpensive strategies like nebulized peroxide, ozone, molecular hydrogen, steroids, exogenous ketones, and Quercetin with zinc, vitamin D, and high-dose vitamin C.

And there are two reports by the American CDC. One says, 70.6% of COVID 19 patients always wore a mask[3]. The other says only 6% of all COVID 19 deaths were due ONLY to coronavirus[4]. And yet another said that the common seasonal flu caused more deaths then COVID 19.

So, if COVID 19 deaths are not what is being reported by the mass media, if the SAR CoV-2 virus is not as deadly to humans, then why the lockdowns, the face masks, the social distancing, the destruction of the way we live, of our economies? Why? Why?

But not all men are blind. On Oct 25th ,2020,  Archbishop of Ulpiana, former Apostolic Nuncio to the United States of America, Carlo Maria Vigano wrote an open letter  (which over 100 million American have read) to President Donald Trump. The letter is long and is all over the internet. This is some of it:

“ …at this hour in which the fate of the whole world is being threatened by a global conspiracy against God and humanity…in the midst of the silence of both civil and religious authorities…this historical moment sees the forces of Evil aligned in a battle against the children of Light…we see heads of nations and religious leaders pandering to this suicide of Western culture and its Christian soul, while the fundamental rights of citizens and believers are denied in the name of a health emergency that is revealing itself more and more fully as instrumental to the establishment of an inhuman faceless tyranny.

“A global plan called the Great Reset is underway.  Its architect is a global élite that wants to subdue all of humanity, imposing coercive measures with which to drastically limit individual freedoms and those of entire populations… Behind the world leaders who are the accomplices and executors of this infernal project, there are unscrupulous characters who finance the World Economic Forum and Event 201, promoting their agenda.

“The purpose of the Great Reset is the imposition of a health dictatorship aiming at the imposition of liberticidal measures, hidden behind tempting promises of ensuring a universal income and cancelling individual debt. The price of these concessions from the International Monetary Fund will be the renunciation of private property and adherence to a program of vaccination against Covid-19 and Covid-21 promoted by Bill Gates with the collaboration of the main pharmaceutical groups. Beyond the enormous economic interests that motivate the promoters of the Great Reset, the imposition of the vaccination will be accompanied by the requirement of a health passport and a digital ID, with the consequent contact tracing of the population of the entire world. Those who do not accept these measures will be confined in detention camps or placed under house arrest, and all their assets will be confiscated.

“Mr President, I imagine that you are already aware that in some countries the Great Reset will be activated between the end of this year and the first trimester of 2021. For this purpose, further lockdowns are planned, which will be officially justified by a supposed second and third wave of the pandemic….  But this world, Mr President, includes people, affections, institutions, faith, culture, traditions, and ideals: people and values that do not act like automatons, who do not obey like machines, because they are endowed with a soul and a heart, because they are tied together by a spiritual bond that draws its strength from above, from that God that our adversaries want to challenge, just as Lucifer did at the beginning of time with his “non serviam.”

“Until a few months ago, it was easy to smear as “conspiracy theorists” those who denounced these terrible plans, which we now see being carried out down to the smallest detail. No one, up until last February, would ever have thought that, in all of our cities, citizens would be arrested simply for wanting to walk down the street, to breathe, to want to keep their business open, to want to go to church on Sunday. Yet now it is happening all over the world

“Mr President, you have clearly stated that you want to defend the nation – One Nation under God, fundamental liberties, and non-negotiable values that are denied and fought against today. It is you, dear President, who are “the one who opposes” the deep state, the final assault of the children of darkness.

“For this reason, it is necessary that all people of goodwill be persuaded of the epochal importance of the imminent election…  Your adversary is also our adversary: it is the Enemy of the human race, He who is “a murderer from the beginning” (Jn 8:44).

“And yet, in the midst of this bleak picture, this apparently unstoppable advance of the “Invisible Enemy,” an element of hope emerges. The adversary does not know how to love, and it does not understand that it is not enough to assure a universal income or to cancel mortgages in order to subjugate the masses and convince them to be branded like cattle. This people, which for too long has endured the abuses of a hateful and tyrannical power, is rediscovering that it has a soul; it is understanding that it is not willing to exchange its freedom for the homogenization and cancellation of its identity; it is beginning to understand the value of familial and social ties, of the bonds of faith and culture that unite honest people. This Great Reset is destined to fail because those who planned it do not understand that there are still people ready to take to the streets to defend their rights, to protect their loved ones, to give a future to their children and grandchildren. The levelling inhumanity of the globalist project will shatter miserably in the face of the firm and courageous….  To be an instrument of Divine Providence is a great responsibility, for which you will certainly receive all the graces of state that you need, since they are being fervently implored for you by the many people who support you with their prayers.”

Meanwhile, here in Belize, we kill our so-called COVID 19 patients. Ventilators will kill you. Doctors of Belize, read the report of the US Oak Ridge National Lab on COVID 19. NO one needs to die anymore from COVID 19.  According to the Europeans and others, diet related comorbidities are responsible for 94% of COVID 19 related deaths. US President Trump who is 74 years old and obese was cured in 3 days of COVID 19.

And by the time you read this article, the world will know who won the elections in the United States.

Curfew on Nov 11th election night in Belize is part of the Globalist agenda – let the people celebrate their victory. Open the churches, the schools, the bars, open the society – send the globalist/elites back to Hell with Lucifer.

The American vs. the British version of Capitalism

By Bill Lindo

Belize City: Oct 24th 2020: — For some time I have been writing articles trying to educate Belizeans that the reason why first the United States of America, and later Germany, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and today’s China have been able to provide a high standard of living for their citizens was because every one of them followed similar versions of Capitalism that was known during the nineteen century as the American School/System of Political Economy. In Belize we known it as George Price’s Mixed Economy. George Price as I were educated in the United States before 1971 so we were taught the American System/School.

The major concepts of the American School that distinguish that version of Capitalism from the British School are:

  1. Exploiting nature rather than men. All our schools teach both in business and economics classes that it’s okay to exploit your fellow man. Yet most citizens of Belize cry that they are Christians, eventhough they know that it wrong to cheat, to steal, to exploit their fellow humankind.  Slavery was/is the institutional organization of exploiting man by other men.  Belize as a British colony/neo-colony has always exploited men rather than nature. This concept has been at the heart of the difference between Hamilton’s American system, and the British and older systems of exploitation of slavery for over ten thousand years.  Make no mistake, the United States of America was the first nation-state formed specifically to make the phrase “man made in the image of his Creator” a reality.  After the murder of Alexander Hamilton, it took another 50+ years before Abe Lincoln with the advice of America’s greatest economist, Henry Charles Carey, to revive Hamilton’s American System and make the United States the greatest industrial nation-state on Earth. Take a look at the sugar belt in the North of Belize. The local cane farmer is paid about $ 42/ton for sugar cane. The cost under normal conditions to produce that ton of cane is about $ 41.00. So, the cane farmer is being cheated by the giant foreign multi-national company.  If instead, nature was exploited by the use of technology (e, below) and (f, below) agricultural productivity, a high income would be paid to the cane farmers.
  • Tariff Protection of local agriculture and manufacturing because free trade have always benefit the strong at the expense of the weak.Every single country in today’s world that has become an industrial nation-state and provided a high standard of living to their citizens have done it by practicing trade protection of infant industries and agriculture.  In fact, the Covid-19 crisis is showing that nearly every country is practicing protection of their local production to protect the workers of their respective countries, because of the massive dislocation of their economies. British version of Capitalism has failed. A few years ago a local Mennonite farmer decided to manufacture disc plows in Shipyard, Belize. He imported steel from the United States. He paid an average of 22% in duties and taxes on the steel imports. But the same disc plow imported from Brazil was selling about 18% cheaper. Why? The imported plow paid no duty nor taxes. Our oligarchy stopped that farmer from becoming a local manufacturer and keeping our money at home for the benefit of Belizeans. Take vitamins/supplement   for medical use. If a person/company imports vitamins/supplements the importer pays the Ministry of Health $ 250 per year for a license. But if that person or company chooses to manufacture the vitamins/supplements here in Belize the Ministry charges $ 5,000 for a license.  The policy of the oligarchy in Belize as in colonial times is to prohibit local manufacturing.
  • High wages to workers, because as E. Peshine Smith, wrote: “In order to make labour-cheap, the labourer must be well-fed, well-clothed, well-lodged, well-instructed.” Over the last 150 years political-economists have known that the cheapest worker in money-terms is not necessary the cheapest in economic terms. At the end of the day, money-wages is paid for knowledge, and knowledge is expensive because while the worker is learning, he has to be fed, clothed, and given shelter. In fact, higher money-wages usually tend to increase productivity in the economy such that unit-prices tend to decrease — leading to higher standards of living.
  • Money creation is a public utility and should be under the control of elected representatives of the people, not controlled by private individuals for private gain and control.  For thousands of years the act of money creation was an act of the sovereign. It was only in the last 200 + years that private individuals were given the authority to create new money. The power to create new money from the air is an omnipotent power to be given to individuals. It is tantamount to the power of life and death. Humans make other humans their enemies, and to give your enemy the power of life and death over you is just ludicrous. This is why the National Bank of Belize is absolutely necessary. Prime Minister Dean Oliver Barrow gave Belize financial Independence. We can use the National Bank to create new money to invest in our farms, factories, fishing coops and other useful ventures necessary for our development, especially today when Covid-19 has destroyed our national economy.
  • Technology and innovation always causes new methods to enter production and thus profits and wages don’t diminish but instead leads to higher productivity and thus higher wages to workers. Therefore the theory of Diminishing Returns is not valid to physical reality. Young people taking their first classes in economics must be at a lost to understand what their teachers are saying: in a capitalist society no matter what you do capitalism has built-in the process that profits must fall as capitalism increases. This stupid theory has been repeated by all the British economists from as far back as Rev. Thomas Malthus, David Ricardo, Marshall, and John Keynes. In fact, Keynes said that the best way to postpone this dreadful day is not to invest in productive activities such as building two railway lines from York to London, but instead better to build two pyramids – two tombs for the dead. Technology is the invention of something new, especially the application of scientific knowledge to develop new machinery and equipment.  Technology doesn’t solely mean the use of computers as is presumed today. Originally, it referred to the branch of knowledge dealing with engineering or applied science. Now there is a concept called the “Machine-tool Principle” which is the key to applied engineering/technology. This is where the theory and practical fuse and become one.  Therefore,

Technology and innovation leads to higher productivity, thus increasing both profits and wages, leading to a harmony of interests – not class warfare.

  • A view of soil fertility and agricultural productivity as a product of capital investment – not nature.  Science is the way to solve the problem of “mining the soil”.   This concept goes back to the opposition of the Americans to both Ricardo and Malthus. Those British economists preach that man when he first settles the soil goes first to the best soil, then eventually to the worst. After the better soil is settled and your country runs out of good soils, then your country must take up arms – guns and conquer other countries – create colonies to exploit. The greatest economist, the American, Henry C. Carey in his many books and articles concluded that the early settler did not settle first on the best soil, but instead on the inferior because he physically could not work the best soils. He didn’t have the machinery. This was easy to prove in the early American settlements, and more important, the soil as given by nature will become depleted after time. The crops will extract the minerals, vitamins, etc. from the soil. Science has shown that these minerals, especially phosphorus, nitrogen, calcium, sulphur can be replaced so that with the use of capital – minerals (fertilizers) are replaced in the exact quantities and qualities require by nature to grow a nutrient-dense product leading to healthy citizens.
  • Public infrastructure as a means to lower costs in an industrial society by introducing new methods of production and communications, and the public support of research and development. Agriculture and manufacturing industries need a glue to hold them together. That glue is infrastructure. There is both soft and hard infrastructure. Education and health are examples of soft industries. Both are absolutely necessary in our society. Then there is the need for hard infrastructure: roads, bridges, canals, dams, buildings, and so forth. The problem for Belize is that we listen to our foreign instructors too much. We need to stop importing materials for our infrastructure projects and start making them ourselves, such as cement and steel. In September 2019, China opened the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau bridge and tunnel. Most Western engineers said this modern wonder could not be done; it was an impossible task. After 7 years, USD $ 20 billion, and the issuance of 1,600 patents the impossible was done. New types of steel, including stainless steel, new heavy-duty cranes, and new welding methods made the impossible possible. Those new methods will now be part of the Chinese economy which means their productivity will increase tremendously, leading to lower unit prices and higher wages to workers. This is how infrastructure causes a nation-state to create happiness among its citizens.
  • Government intervention in an economy. Government as the “brain” must put a bridle on corporate bodies, and must establish the pursuit of happiness as a natural right of citizens. In Belize this principle is enshrined in the PUP’s Constitution as a sacred duty of government to create full employment and end poverty. The propaganda we hear every day goes something like this – the private sector is the engine of growth. The government does nothing, just steal from the productive private sector that produces wealth. Belize got its political Independence on September 21st 1981. Before we were a colony of Great Britain so we had certain restrictions to follow. But for the last 39 years the Belize private sector could do whatever it wished. What manufacturing industries have been created? How has the standard of living increased by the investment of the private sector in the local economy? How many new jobs were created by the private sector? The truth is that Belize’s private sector created no new jobs. They created no manufacturing industries. When Belize got political independence the rate of poverty was about 23%. By the year 1998 it climbed to about 33%, by 2009 it was at 43%, and by 2016 it was at 58%. Today with Covid-19 it is estimated to be some 65%. That is the legacy of the private sector. And in March this year it was revealed that 5% of Belizeans owned some 75% of all the cash on deposits in the banks. Young people, the less-educated and people of colour in Belize don’t own stocks, bonds, or real estate. They sell their time by the hour and the real hourly rate has scarcely changed since 1981. The rich get richer. The poor and middle classes get poorer. With a poverty rate of 65%, expect more corruption, more dependence, more depression, more poverty, and more unfairness.  This is why George Cadle Price wrote that it is a sacred duty of government to intervene in the economy because only government as the “brains” of economy can put a bridle on corporate bodies to create full employment and the eradication of poverty.

The above is a short description of the different versions of Capitalism. Now the irony today is that the United States no longer practices the version of Capitalism that they invented.  President Trump says he will bring back the American System and make America great again. And we all know how he is hated by the lovers of empire.  China is not Communist. China says they practice Socialism with Chinese characterises. But the truth is they practice the American version of Capitalism and the result of 40 years of that policy is clear for all to see.  The neoliberal policies of the west create serious problems for our country. These days we hear a lot about Public-Private Partnerships (PPP). The plain truth is that it’s socialism for the rich. The big boys use the power of government to create monopolies for themselves, thus forcing the middle-class, workers, and the poor to buy from a few.  The rich get richer and the poor get babies.

I hope this short introduction explains why the people of Belize (British Honduras) live in misery and have no hope for their children’s future.

Is it not time to dream?

I have a Dream

By Bill Lindo

Belize City, Oct 6th 2020: I had a dream. In my dream the Lord our God’s Holy Spirit descended on the people of Belize and showed them that they are made in the image of their Creator.

As the Holy Spirit took me around the country, I saw the average Belizean man, woman and child as they were before 1983 – happy, full of big smiles, contented people.  In my dream there was no poverty in Belize. Children went to bed, their own bed, with a full belly of nutrient-dense foods. The schools were producing highly educated youths in the natural sciences and engineering. Children were happy to attend school and to compete against each other in physical sports and academics. Learning was no longer a chore, but something to make you excited, to dream, to dream of partaking in Belize’s budding space project, to explore the stars.

Belize was no longer ruled by the oligarchy – no ASR/BSI; no Ashcroft alliance; no Heineken/Bowen & Bowen; no Santander; no Benny’s, no Mennonites; no 5 Chinese merchants controlling ALL retail; no elites/big boys deciding who gets rich, who starves, nor who can succeed in business.  Our friends, brothers, sisters, and neighbours who ran for elected public office no longer ran for an I-phone, a Range-Rover or a Land-Cruiser, but became politicians to ensure that as US President Kennedy said, “A rising tide lift(ing) all boats.” Politicians would work for the people who elected them to ensure life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness as the reasons for representation.

As the Holy Spirit showed me, ALL Belizeans were healthy because they were not eating or drinking processed foods nor drinking sugar-laden sodas. Instead they were eating and drinking healthy foods grown on healthy soils that were fed by good fertilizers without the need for chemicals and pesticides.  And all grown in Belize by Belizean farmers. Crime was nearly gone from the landscape of Belize.

The Holy Spirit also showed me in my dream that the solutions for fighting COVID-19 did not lie in a far off, inaccessible vaccine, but instead in cheap preventative vitamins and accessible medicine. I dreamed, that like the older leaders of UK, Brazil, Honduras, Guatemala, Belarus and the USA, COVID-19 didn’t have to mean lockdowns and death.

Why were all these glorious things in my dream possible?

Because Belize had elected a political party led by Belize’s version of Abe Lincoln. Belizeans decided that Independence meant Independence, where Belize’s decisions were made by Belizeans without foreign interference.  Hon. George Cade Price gave political independence to Belize. Hon. Dean Oliver Barrow gave financial independence to Belize. And now our Abe Lincoln was giving Belize its economic independence.

In my dream, Belize is an industrial nation-state. Forty-five percent of the work-force is in construction and manufacturing; and some 10% in agriculture, 6% as engineers and scientists. The other 39% are support to the 61% productive sector work-force.  Belize now makes the steel, the cement, the tractors, the bulldozers, the cranes, the furniture, the dresses, the clothes, the shoes, the hand bags, the belts, the electric wire, the lights, the paints, the fresh natural juices, the eggs raised on the ranges, the chickens that roam the fields, the cows that eat grass, the fresh green vegetables, the plows, the machetes, the hammers, the bolts, and most of all, the machine tools. Belizean workers are supervising state-of-the-art machines that are run by home-made computers – CNC, Al, and robotics all rolled into one unified whole. These workers were educated up to junior college and earning at least $ 40,000 per year.

Suddenly, a loud noise. I woke up only to find nothing has changed. Oh goodness! I was dreaming.

Belize has no Abe Lincoln. Belize got political independence September 21st 1981. Today, we don’t even celebrate our right to determine our own future. This year we celebrated our colonial 10th of September, but not the day when we became free. Instead we have allowed foreign interests to instruct our politicians and bureaucrats on how to administer the colony.  Over the last 39 years Belizeans have done everything to try and hand back political power to the foreign masters.

And the financial independence? Most of us are hell-bent to hurry and give back that financial independence to our foreign financial masters. Every commercial bank in Belize is foreign owned and controlled. About two billion dollars of money creation (new money) happens in current Belize. 95% is done by foreigners. Hon. Dean Oliver Barrow created the National Bank of Belize to gain control of the creation of new money and to control interest rates. But, the National Bank has a hard time to remain in existence. Every step of the way, the elites, the big boys have tried to destroy the National Bank.  One political party has even gone as far as to publicly call for the demise of the National Bank and the financial independence of Belize.

Instead, what Belize has is a general election set for November 11th 2020 and politicians are busy hurling insults and charges against each other. None of them talk about making Belize an industrial nation-state. Instead the discussions are about who will be made Central Bank Governor, who will be given CEO jobs, who will be made head of Customs and the Income Tax. No one talks about creating the 65,000 jobs now necessary because of the fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic.  Our politicians are not discussing how to improve the productivity of our workforce so that they can be paid the $ 40,000 per year to end the brutal poverty they are suffering and to place them into the middleclass.

Belize feels like the end of the World. Lots of hungry people, owned and controlled by a few foreign exploiters and their local counterparts. A colony with no future for the vast majority of its citizens.

I prefer to dream.

Slavery and the Oligarchical System — Belize

By Bill Lindo

Belize City, July 31th 2020: On Monday, June 22nd, it was announced that the holding company that owns the Belize Bank Ltd. was in the process of buying out the assets and liabilities of Scotia Bank (Belize) Ltd. Then one month later,  on July 22nd a peaceful demonstration by the Christian Workers Union at the Port of Belize Ltd, which is under receivership by the Ashcroft alliance, Private Investment Ltd and British Caribbean Bank Ltd erupted in violence. Emotions, frustration and disbelief are still running high, and truth and insight have taken a walk. Given the danger of this situation, it is time for some very blunt talk on these matters. Hopefully, such a discussion will provoke some people to look at this subject in a more serious and honest way.

Slavery and racism are features of the oligarchical domination which has plagued mankind for more than ten thousand years. The subjugation of large numbers of people into de facto or de jure slavery is the essence of oligarchical rule.  Racist mass murders have always been a feature of oligarchical culture, but to understand it within today’s reality, you must lift your vision from the individual to the broader killing fields which are imposed by the economic policy decisions of the financial elite.

Consider the post-1971 financial and economic diktats (removal of gold as global reserve monetary system to an arbitrary fiat currency) of the City of London and Wall Street, which have led to economic looting and mass murder in Belize, Africa, and our neighbours and elsewhere at the hands of the trans-Atlantic mega-banks, the International Monetary Fund and the private equity funds and others.  Debt slavery, which destroys the economic basis for survival, has been imposed on the majority of the world’s population, savagely in the case of the poorest of nations (Honduran, Haiti), but also upon the “lower 99 percent” in England and America.

Belizeans, murder is not simply a matter of pulling a trigger or kneeling on someone’s neck. Deliberate mass murder is as simple as “signing one’s name” to a document, issuing policy directives, withholding loans, extracting usurious debt payment, or cancelling contracts for national development. No one gets blood on their hands. No one has to gaze into the eyes of the victims. The dead are invisible. This is what we see today in the decisions made in the richly-carpeted and ornate mahogany-laden boardrooms of the Bank of England, the International Monetary Fund, the New York Fed, the European Central Bank and Goldman Sachs. This is real racism, organized racism, organized mass murder, and it comes from the financial oligarchy based in London. Its intention is not simply to kill people, but to kill posterity, and to destroy any possibility for a productive future.

Likewise, Malthusian mass murder is the heart and soul of the “green finance” proposals of former Bank of England head Mark Carney (and his friend/pal Michael Bloomberg), which if enforced worldwide, will kill hundreds of millions. The same Malthusian game plan is seen in the current intention  of Covid 19 medical care  where we have a “cure” but which treatment is routinely denied to the very sick and elderly who no longer have “lives worth living.”

To the extent a moral prejudice of racism exists within the population of any country, it is the product of oligarchical masters who seek to divide the very people they wish to oppress, and manipulate them into fighting one another. It is a tactic of oligarchical rule, and to become a foot soldier on such a battlefield is very foolish. Indeed, it is a sign of one’s own acceptance of servility, of your acceptance of your “invisible chains”.

Imperial systems have always been financial empires, controlled by a financial oligarchy. This was as true of the Roman Empire as it was of the 17th century Netherlands, where the creation of the Bank of Amsterdam, the Bourse and the Dutch East and West Indies Companies—all between 1600 and 1610—resulted in the Netherlands becoming the greatest slave-trading empire on the planet. By the 18th century, the British Empire,—with the new Bank of England, the Exchequer, the Royal Africa Company, and the East India Company—began to push the Dutch out. But always, the slave traffic—much like the later opium and narcotics traffic—was a financial policy, with huge profits financing the London stock market and the Bank of England.

This proposed takeover of Scotia Bank Belize by the Ashcroft Alliance should not happen and cannot happen.  Why? Take note, Central Bank of Belize. Not even the Anglo-Americans would allow such a crazy (facey) merger in their countries.

In the world of commercial banks, loans are counted as assets. At December 31st, 2019, the total assets of the five banks was $ 3.539 billion dollars. The combined new assets of the two banks would amount to some $ 1.784 billion dollars or about 50% of all the bank assets in Belize. This is crazy in a small country like Belize. To understand, one needs to look at net loans as a percent of deposits. Scotia Bank has committed 95% of deposits as cover for loans. It means Scotia Bank Belize has confidence in Belize and its people.  Belize Bank has only committed 57%, the lowest in Belize.  The average is usually 80% – 85%. But Belize Bank has the highest rate of net profit which means high interest rates, no risk taking, no confidence, and high looting.

Belizeans, understand that banks don’t lend deposits. They lend money which they create from thin air[1] and credit unions lend shareholders equity.  If Belize Bank gets control of Scotia Bank Belize, the looting of the people of Belize will increase tremendously. With our economy devastated by Covid 19, and our refusal to save ourselves by the only means available – high tech manufacturing, especially fourth wave CNC machine tools – and instead we let our “invisible chains” willingly lead us into the seductive arms of the British oligarch, then God have mercy on our souls.

Let’s put it this way, this new proposed entity will become what they call “too big to fail”.  I hope the average Belizean understands what this means. It means this new bank will be able to do whatever it chooses and be damned with the Belizean people. It will kill competition, and charge whatever usurious interest rates it feels like. It will lend to who it wishes and destroy its enemies, at will. This is tantamount of giving the power of life and death to a ruthless British oligarch. Nathan Rothschild in 1815 made a famous quote: “Who controls money, governs”.  Do we really want to do this?

A letter written by Ashcroft, dated July 30th 2020 was made public today.  Most Belizeans don’t know what such terms as “rule of law” means when used by members of the British Empire/oligarchy. It means that the rules are set by the oligarchy for their right to rule over humanity.  When the United States won its Independence from the British oligarchy, one of the first things it did was to create its own Supreme Court where its own trained lawyers decided right and wrong. No non-United States citizens were or are allowed to judge an American citizen.  If Belize is an independent nation-state, then we do not need a foreign court to judge us. It’s as simple as that. Do we have so much chains around our necks that we really think that any foreign Court will give justice to tiny little Belize over a British billionaire, a member of the British ruling class? The British oligarch has lost court cases in Belize, but has NEVER lost in any foreign court.  This is what is meant when you hear from their mouths such foolishness as “rule of law” – it’s another means to control our nation-state.  To financially bankrupt Belize.

I hope the educated among us understands that that letter of July 30th 2020 written by Ashcroft to our Prime Minister is telling him, and by extension the citizens of Belize, that you are NOT free.  This letter is a gem. It is saying that Ashcroft is not subject to our laws. He is above them.  He, like Queen Elizabeth of the British oligarchy/empire is above our laws. Documents like the UK-Belize Bilateral Investment Treaty (April 30th 1982) needs to be torn-up if Belize wishes to be really free and independent.  The British oligarch has always changed the names of his different companies so that he can get jurisdiction to come under this treaty. Why? The treaty gives a UK national or firm or entity the right to compensation from the nationalization of any asset, and trial in a foreign court with foreign judges. This means if the proposed Scotia/Belize bank merger is allowed by the Central Bank of Belize then not only will Belize be subject to the personal quirks of a person who despises social justice but also one who hates the very concept of freedom and independence. And should any future government object or have a problem with the merger then they will be held accountable under the UK-Belize Bilateral Investment Treaty. From experience we know that Belize has never found justice under the execution of that treaty.

Remember the Universal Hospital matter? Ashcroft’s letter also reminds us of that debacle and the claims that  the Government of Belize owes in excess of $ 90 million to Belize Bank.  But we know that he/Belize Bank was paid for the hospital. Remember the monies from Taiwan? It must be what is known in international banking circles as “banker’s arithmetic”.

Since the British billionaire loves Belize so much, then instead of investing USD $ 200 million in some worthless cruise terminal, he should invest instead in the rapid industrialization of Belize — in steel, a high speed rail, CNC machine tools, paying high wages.  Stop exploiting man, exploit nature instead. Offer Belizeans a real future.

In considering the nature of today’s financial oligarchy, don’t just think of Queen Elizabeth and her half-witted son. The 21st century imperial system is more of the form of a foul-smelling stench of like-minded billionaires and oligarchical elite.  Their policy is Malthusian: kill off as many people as possible and halt human scientific progress.  Enslave all humans in a One-World Government.  Well, to hell with them! And Belizeans, who, which politician has said anything about the Ashcroft alliance proposal to purchase Scotia Bank Belize?  Only the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. Dean Barrow has made public statements expressing his concerns that the merger will create a “too big to fail” monster. Wow Belizeans/politicians is the British billionaire “invisible chains” so tight that you have all loss your voices – your dignity? Can we really keep our Independence? Did our Belizean heroes fought 31 years in vain?

To the Hon. Patrick Faber and the Hon John Briceno, since one of you will be the future Prime Minister of Belize, please for the sake of Belize and its children come together and stop the proposed merger of the Belize Bank and Scotia Bank Belize. If the Central Bank of Belize plays games, then go to the National Assembly.  It is high time we develop anti-trust laws in Belize.  The National Bank of Belize should instead buy (and the US dollars to pay? Ask Taiwan for help. Are they not our friends?) the assets and liabilities of Scotia Bank Belize and create money for Belize’s development needs in scientific agriculture like Ya’axche’, not the Mennonite “mining of the soil”; fourth-wave manufacturing with CNC-robotic machine tools; and the “glue” infrastructure.   Unity is strength. Please for God’s sake, don’t let the oligarchs divide us anymore. We have one country – Belize.  There is no red and no blue; there is only Belize.
